*Many thanks to all who attended the 2016 SRTS conference at Lady Margaret Hall on Friday 23 and Saturday 24 September. We had a wonderful time meeting so many people who are passionate about Modern Languages teaching. We will be updating the conference pages with a report shortly, as well as the image gallery.

In the meantime, a date for your diaries: SRTS 2017 will be held at St Anne’s College on Friday 22 and Saturday 23 September. We hope to see many of you there!*

Welcome to the Sir Robert Taylor Society, a network of teachers of Modern Foreign Languages in secondary schools, academics in the Medieval and Modern Languages Faculty at the University of Oxford, and others who have an interest in Modern Languages.

Our annual conference takes places in September at the University of Oxford, and provides a unique forum for interaction and exchange between the University and teachers.

We are very fortunate to have been awarded HEFCE funding under the National Network for Collaborative Outreach scheme in 2016. This is funding a joint project with the MML outreach and schools liaison team at the University of Cambridge. The NNCO grant will provide funding towards  bursaries for MFL teachers from the maintained sector to attend the Sir Robert Taylor Society Conference, and the conference of our sister society at Cambridge, the Oliver Prior Society.
